Basic 39″ Shinai
WaShinKan sells basic Shinai for both men and women. In Japan adult women generally use size 39″ Shinai. 38″ Shinai for ladies are allowed, but they are now mainly used by high school students at 420g. While adult women are allowed to use size 38″ Shinai in tournaments, these Shinai will still need to weigh more than 440g without the Tsuba & Tsuba-dome. Therefore we advise to buy standard 39″ Shinai for both female and male Kenshi.
Please note: This Shinai is fully furnished (Tsuka, Nakayui, Tsuru, etc.) but does not come with a Tsuba & Tsuba-dome.
